Current Analysis Using a Modulation Signal Bispectrum for Machining Status Monitoring

Universal lathes currently have a place in manufacturing industry. Its processing status monitoring is an urgent problem to be solved because it related the quality of produced products. Traditional methods mainly use vibration sensors monitor lathe. This paper proposes modulated signal bispectrum (MSB) method analyse current signals AC motor, which can machining state lathe connected with motor. It applies MSB instantaneous measured step by turning experiments different cutting tools obtain accurate modulation characteristics and their evolution behavior change workpiece size depth, realize status. Results show that more effective than envelope spectrum analysis extracting characteristic values treatment states.
